The Working Group Number 15. Panel 1: Exterior of a hospital. A pack of dogs followed by two humans are walking briskly towards the entrance. Someone says, “Beanie sent you to shadow us?” Panel 2: The speaker is Gracie, who then hesitates and says, “Well…” Panel 3: Gracie says to Lindy who is trotting next to the group, “You can come along but just try to stay out of the way, okay?” Panel 4: A dog next to Gracie says, “Oh great. Gracie’s picked up another stray.”
Panel 5: Gracie explains, “That’s Margo. Extremely competitive but also my best friend.” Margo says to Lindy, “You’ll never catch up, stray. I’m the best trainee this hospital’s ever had.” Panel 6: Gracie continues introductions, “I’m Gracie. Trying to balance my personal life with my high-pressure job and living up to my mother’s legacy.” Panel 7: Lindy looks over and sees another dog who says, “Hi.” Gracie says, “This is Murphy, but we call him “Pup Van Winkle” because he falls asleep on all his patients.”
Panel 8: The trainees and Lindy walk through the hospital’s lobby towards a dog who is drooling. Gracie concludes, “Behind us is Ajax and Belle but who cares about them.” Belle in the back of the group angrily says, “Hey!” Panel 9: The drooling dog addresses the group, “Trainees. You’ll be working with me today.” Panel 10: Lindy asks, “Who’s that?” Panel 11: Gracie says, “One of the more senior dogs here, Dr. Pupper.” Panel 12: Margo adds, “We call him McDrooly.”
Panel 13: Margo continues, “McDrooly has a long history with Gracie.” Panel 14: Gracie says, “We agreed to be mature about it, but now he’s refusing to consult on my clinical cuddles trial that could save lives!” Panel 15: Murphy, Lindy, Margo, and Gracie sit and wait in front of the elevator while a human presses the up button. Murphy says, “Maybe it’s because you’re still a trainee.” Margo says, “Or maybe it’s because you slept with his wife.”
