The Working Group Number 19. Panel 1: Papi asks Zoot, “Lindy’s looking for work—unskilled, no education. Any ideas?” Panel 2: Papi and Lindy approach Zoot who says, “Well I’ve been General Manager at this salon for seven years and I think it’s the perfect gig. Does your family own a business?” Panel 3: Zoot continues, “Like a deli or a wash ’n fold?” Panel 4: Lindy replies, “Nope.” Zoot exclaims, “Well there’s your problem!” Papi asks Lindy, “Why do you need money anyway?”
Panel 5: Lindy says, “To pay rent.” Panel 6: Zoot and Papi both repeat the word, “Rent?” in confusion. Papi asks Zoot, “I don’t know that word, do you?” Panel 7: Zoot hurries inside the salon while saying, “Wait let me check.” Panel 8: The salon door remains closed. Panel 9: Zoot returns carrying a button pad in her mouth. Panel 10: Zoot is in God Mode and pressing all the buttons on the button pad. The button pad says, “Treat, Play, Walk, Love you, Water, and Treat.” Panel 11: A hand feeds a treat to Zoot who says, “Oh thank you.”
Panel 12: Zoot mashes the button pad in frustration and says, “Rent isn’t on the button pad!!” Papi says to Lindy, “Start from the beginning Lindy.” Panel 13: In a flashback, Lindy naps on a bed behind her best friend Sage who is working on a laptop. Lindy explains, “I live in a house with my best friend Sage and our roommates. Sage’s job was tapping a lot and saying, ‘Okay sounds good.’” Panel 14: The flashback continues. Lindy walks out of Sage’s bedroom door. Lindy says, “Last week she asked me to wait outside while she had a meeting.” Panel 15: Lindy in the flashback peeks through Sage’s door with wide eyes. Lindy says, “When I came back in, Sage was gone!”
Panel 16: Lindy is surprised to see a giant burrito in Sage’s bed. Lindy says, “She’d been replaced by… a giant burrito.” Panel 17: Lindy starts to say, “The burrito smelled weird so I-“ but is cut off by Zoot who says, “Please tell me you did not bite in.” Panel 18: Lindy defensively says, “Just a small nibble!” Papi says, “Oh Lindy” with disappointment. Lindy says, “She barely felt it!!” Panel 19: The burrito is revealed to contain Sage, who is crying so much that her tears have spilled over onto the bed and Lindy is licking at the puddle. Lindy says, “Anyway it was Sage in the burrito. She didn’t have a job anymore.”
