The Working Group Number 14. Panel 1: Lindy is lying down and looks dejected and frustrated. Panel 2: Someone above Lindy says, “Hey.” Lindy’s head perks up. Panel 3: Someone above Lindy says, “Hey!” Lindy looks around, not sure where the voice is coming from. Panel 4: The voice is revealed to be a cat, who says, “Up here bonehead.” The cat pushes a magazine off of a countertop and it hits Lindy on top of the head with a “Smak!” Panel 5: The cat asks, “D’you speak cat?” Lindy sits up and replies, “Very little.”
Panel 6: Lindy is sitting in front of a newsstand on a train station platform. The cat is sitting behind the counter of the newsstand on the train platform. The cat asks, “Are you lost? Need directions?” Lindy replies, “Need every day hunting for… life…” Panel 7: Lindy continues, “Uuuuuhhhh….. Don’t know this word in cat….” Panel 8: The cat asks, “Purpose? Responsibility? A job?” Panel 9: Lindy says, “Yes job. Everyone say Lindy need long time job.” The cat asks, “Oh like a career?” Lindy says, “Yes.”
Panel 10: The cat licks their paw and says, “What you need is a job that doesn’t feel like a job. You gotta do what you love.” Panel 11: The cat leans down to look at Lindy and says, “For me it’s prowling the city as an I.C. (independent cat). What do you love to do?” Panel 12: Lindy replies, “Eat. Smell. Run. Sleep. Chew.” Panel 13: The cat says, “Ok so typical dog stuff…” Panel 14: The cat realizes, “Actually I think there is a job like that.” Panel 15: The cat continues, “I know a pack of dogs that work together at St. Ferris Hospital, right around the corner.”
Panel 16: Lindy asks, “When they coming?” Panel 17: The cat walks along the newsstand counter and says, “They take the train together, you can meet up with them at this stop. They’re very passionate about their jobs, I think it will be a good fit. Tell them Beanie sent you.” Panel 18: Lindy looks back at Beanie while walking away with tail held high and says, “Thank you, Beanie! Have fun at the Jellicle Ball or whatever.” Panel 19: Beanie looks annoyed.
