The Working Group number one. Panel 1: a dog named Lindy approaches a dog named Banjo at a dog park. “Hey Banjo,” Lindy says, “You know everyone in this park, right?” Panel 2: bird’s eye view of the dog park. Dogs are running around, and newcomers enter through the gate. Banjo says, “Been here every morning for 11 years now, and I’ve smelled every ass that’s come through that gate.” Panel 3: Lindy asks, “Do you know anyone who can hook me up with a job?”
Panel 4: Banjo asks, “What kind of job?” Lindy replies, “I don’t know—the paying kind I guess.” Panel 5: Banjo says, “Well, plenty of options these days. You should talk to Dolly and Spencer.” Panel 6: Lindy looks confused and asks, “Who??” Panel 7: Banjo and Lindy approach Dolly and Spencer. Banjo says, “Mornin’ Dolly, Spencer. Hope we’re not interrupting.”
Panel 8: The three dogs talk while Lindy watches. Spencer smiles and says, “Not at all! We were just talking about the pandemic.” And Banjo says, “Oh yeah?” Panel 9: Dolly says, “I quarantined with my family and it was so productive! I finally got the hang of using one of those button pads.” Panel 10: Dolly’s human family member holds up a cell phone to record Dolly using the button pad. Dolly is pressing a button that repeatedly says, “Food.”
Panel 11: Spencer says, “I learned the button pad too. The twins and I used it to hold an intervention.” Panel 12: Spencer and two cats look concerned and sit behind a button pad across from their human family member. Spencer presses the buttons for “Scared” and “Sad.” Panel 13: Their family member asks, “You’re scared and sad? Like worried?” Panel 14: Spencer presses the button for “Yes.” Their family member asks, “About what?” Panel 15: The cats and Spencer look at each other. Panel 16: They look back up at their family member. One of the cats presses the button for “You.”
