Day 1: Home to Savannah. Departed at 10am, arrived at 6pm. Day 2: Savannah to Asheville. Departed at 10am, arrived at 5pm. A drawing of morphmaker driving a car and her sister in the passenger seat holding a phone. They both look very nervous.
Day 3: Asheville. Comic title: At The Antiques Store Panel 1: morphmaker picks up a teacup from a table of stuff. morphmaker is smiling and says, "It's so cluttered an disorganized in here!" Panel 2: 20 minutes later. morphmaker struggles to move around piles of stuff in the store. morphmaker looks uncomfortable and says, "It's so cluttered an disorganized in here!" Panel 3: morphmaker is taken aback when a poster of The Beatles starts speaking to her. The poster says, "Take us with you" and "koo koo ka choo" Panel 4: All the stuff in the store is bearing down on morphmaker. A baby doll reaches out to morphmaker and says, "MOTHER" Panel 5: morphmaker, looking upset and frightened, approaches her sister and asks, "Are we ready to leave?"
Day 3: Asheville. Books purchased at Downtown Books & News. Drawings of three books: Get Lost map illustrations, The Comics Journal: Maurice Sendak (The Final Interview), and The Curious Lobster.
Day 4: The Biltmore Estate. Panel 1: morphmaker looks very excited and asks, "Is there an audio guide for dogs?!" Panel 2: Drawing of the sign for audio guides at The Biltmore Estate. There are flags representing the different languages, and a symbol for audio description, and a big paw print symbol. Panel 3: morphmaker deflates, disappointed, and says, "Oh it's for kids..." Below the three panels are drawings of magnets with Chihuly sculptures on them. The caption above the drawings says, "Chihuly magnets purchased for mom and dad."
Day 4: Asheville Comic title: At The Biltmore Estate Panel 1: morphmaker is listening to an audio guide while walking around The Biltmore Estate. morphmaker thinks, "I wonder if George Russell from The Guilded Age is based on George Vanderbilt?" There's a drawing of George Russell next to morphmaker's thought. Panel 2: The audio guide says, "Look up and you will see a portrait of George Vanderbilt." Panel 3: A drawing of the portrait of George Vanderbilt that morphmaker saw in The Biltmore Estate. Panel 4: The audio guide says, "George was very close to his mother." morphmaker thinks, "Actually he seems more like Oscar Van Rhijn from The Guilded Age." There's a drawing of Oscar Van Rhijn next to morphmaker's thought.
Day 5: Asheville to Savannah. Departed at 10am, arrived at 5pm. Day 6: Savannah to home. Departed at 9:30am, arrived at 5pm. A drawing of morphmaker smiling with a thumbs up appears next to the title: My Bonafide Roadtrippin Tips 1. Wear plenty of SPF 50 sunscreen 2. Eat dinner at 5:30pm 3. If you stop for lunch on I-26, be prepared for an elderly man to give you a small stone with the word "Jesus" on it
