Protector of the Small fan comic number four. Panel 1: Keladry of Mindelan spots Nealan of Queenscove hiding behind a wall next to a column with a bust on top of it. Behind Kel is a courtyard with a fountain in it. Kel asks, “Neal, what are you doing?” Neal replies, “I’m hiding from Lady Alanna. She’s really been putting me through my paces during our travels.” Panel 2: Close-up on Neal’s distressed face as he continues, “She’s relentless! She never lets up!” Panel 3: Kel smiles and asks, “Relentless about what? Healing lessons?” Panel 4: Kel looks concerned as Neal looks away from her and replies, “Not exactly…”
Panel 5: Cut to a tired-looking Neal riding on a horse next to Alanna the Lioness on her horse. They’re in some kind of forest environment. Alanna is looking eagerly at Neal and asking, “What does Kel smell like? How tall is she now? What color are her eyes? What does she like to eat? What’s her weapon of choice?” Panel 6: Alanna and Neal viewed from far away, they’re just silhouetted figures on horseback traveling over hills. Alanna’s questions continue: “What was Kel’s childhood like? What are all her animal companions’ names? What time does she rise in the morning? Does she like Daine more than me?”
