Protector of the Small fan comic number 3. Panel 1: King Jonathan is seated at a desk and writing something important. A man kneels next to Jonathan by the desk. Jonathan asks, “What news?” Panel 2: The man looks off to the side and replies, “Your Majesty, it seems the animals in The Royal Forest have developed…” Panel 3: Close-up on the man’s fearful expression as he finishes, “religion.”
Panel 4: King Jonathan and his informant stand near the edge of the forest looking down at a group of animals. The group includes a mouse, a hedgehog, a squirrel, a hare, and an otter. They’re all dressed in clothes, and the mouse is wearing a monk’s habit. The hare and otter are holding a plate of turnovers, the squirrel is holding a big jug, and the hedgehog is holding a barrel. The mouse is saying, “Would you like to join us? We’re having some mushroom’n’celery turnovers, rhubarb an’ strawberry crumble, cheddar cheese, and mint an’ pennycress cordial.” Panel 5: Close-up on Jonathan, looking really freaked out and panicking a little but maintaining a huge smile on his face, leans towards his informant, and says, “Get Daine. Now.” The animals continue to “squeak squeak” and “chrp chrp” in the background.
