Song of the Lioness fan comic number 14. Panel 1: Thom of Trebond sits slumped over in a chair. Purple magic is floating around him. He says, “I did it… I raised Roger from the dead… Delia… You owe me five crowns…” Panel 2: Delia of Eldorne in a green dress and Alex of Tirragen in a black jacket stand in front of Roger’s legs, the rest of him is out of frame. Delia asks, “Did he really do it?” And Alex replies, “No, Duke Roger’s just been in a Sorcerer’s Sleep.” Panel 3: Alex explains loftily, “It’s like a light coma.”
Panel 4: Duke Roger suddenly rises up from his horizontal position. He is wearing a big white tunic and a big gold necklace with rubies and a crown and blue pants and blue boots. He says, “Unnhh.” Alex, Delia, and Josiane rush forward and exclaim, “Your Grace!” Panel 5: Roger is sitting up now, and puts his hand to his face with closed eyes. Alex, Delia, and Josiane look on with concern. He asks, “How… How many years have passed?” Panel 6: Roger becomes happy and excited. He grabs Alex and asks, “Have they invented horseless carriages yet? Are all of my enemies dead??”
Panel 7: Alex replies, “Oh no Your Grace, it’s only been a few months.” Roger screams, “WHAT!!!” right into Alex’s face. He is enraged. Panel 8: Alex, Delia, and Josiane run away in fear as Roger storms behind them screaming, “You blithering FOOLS!!” Panel 9: Roger is tearing at his hair, screaming, “I said don’t wake me up for 2,000 years! I wanted to see the future!”
