Song of the Lioness No. 10

Panel 1: My sister and I (morphmaker) sit at a table. There are arrows identifying us. I’m on the left wearing a green shirt and I have short hair and glasses. My sister sits on the right in a gray hoodie and shoulder-length hair and glasses. There is a phone between us. The phone is playing audio and it says, “This is Trini Alvarado. We hope you have enjoyed this unabridged production of In the Hand of the Goddess by Tamora Pierce.” Panel 2: I look up at my sister and start to say, “Well, that was —“ but I’m cut off as the audiobook continues suddenly with, “Hello, this is Jim Dale,” Panel 3: My sister and I become cartoonishly startled and start screaming. Our heads and eyes are really big. We’re sort of jumping away from the phone and the table. Our screaming covers the whole background and overlaps with Jim Dale saying, “narrator of the Harry Potter audiobook series.”
Panel 4: While we’re both still screaming and all the “AAAA!” Is going on in the background, I smash the phone with a huge mallet hammer thing. WHAM! Jim Dale is still talking, saying, “Listening for audio books isn’t just for entertainment.” Panel 5: Now my sister also starts desperately smashing the phone but with a frying pan. We’re both still screaming and the “AAAA!” is still filling the panel over Jim Dale’s voice saying, “Family… enjoy books…” Panel 6: The phone is silent and smashed to pieces on the table. My sister and I stand breathing heavily. A little skull of death floats over the phone to indicate its death.

There was a jumpscare at the end of the In the Hand of the Goddess audiobook.
